SingleFile API & Integrations

SingleFile has a REST API. It automates entity formation, EIN filing, annual reports and document retrieval across all 52 US jurisdictions, and it pushes real-time events to your systems through webhooks. Your entity data stays in one place and flows into the tools your team already uses, instead of being re-keyed by hand.

Real-time events with webhooks

Instead of polling for changes, register an HTTPS endpoint and SingleFile notifies it when something happens. Subscribe to the events below individually, or receive all of them.

CategoryEvents
EntitiesNew entity, entity updated
DocumentsNew document available, document updated, document deleted
JurisdictionsJurisdiction added, jurisdiction updated
TasksNew task instance created
OrdersOrder submitted, order cancelled, order completed

How it connects

  1. Get credentials

SingleFile issues your API client ID and client secret.

  2. Request a token

Exchange them for a bearer token using the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow. Tokens last one hour.

  3. Call the API

Send JSON requests to the REST endpoints. Every response follows the same success and error structure.

  4. Subscribe to events

Register an HTTPS endpoint for webhooks and choose the events you need, or receive all of them.

Connecting accounting, ERP or practice management software: the API and webhooks are how SingleFile exchanges entity data, filing status and documents with the rest of your stack. Tell us what you run and we will walk through how it fits.

Frequently asked questions

Does SingleFile have an API?
Yes. SingleFile Technologies, the corporate compliance platform (not the browser extension of the same name), provides a REST API that automates entity formation, EIN filing, annual report filing and document retrieval across all 52 US jurisdictions. It uses OAuth 2.0 authentication and supports webhooks for real-time events. Full documentation is at docs.singlefile.ai.
What can I automate with the SingleFile API?

Entity formation, EIN filing, annual report filing and document search and download, plus reading and updating entities, organizations, contacts, jurisdictions, DBAs, orders and compliance tasks. Each filing type has a JSON schema per entity type and jurisdiction, so payloads can be validated before they are submitted.

How does authentication work?

SingleFile uses the OAuth 2.0 client credentials flow. SingleFile issues a client ID and client secret, which you exchange for a bearer token that lasts one hour. The token is sent in the Authorization header of each request.

Does SingleFile support webhooks?

Yes. You can register HTTPS endpoints and receive events when entities are created or updated, documents become available or change, jurisdictions are added, tasks are created, and orders are submitted, cancelled or completed. You can subscribe to specific events or to all of them.

Can I manage a large portfolio of entities through the API?

Yes. Entities, orders and documents can be created, listed and retrieved programmatically at the organization level, and documents can be downloaded in bulk. That makes it practical to load and maintain a large or multi-client entity portfolio without manual entry.

Does SingleFile integrate with our accounting, ERP or practice management software?
The API and webhooks are how SingleFile connects to other systems, so teams can move entity data, filing status and documents into the software they already use. Contact us at info@singlefile.ai or 800-391-9869 to talk through your specific stack.
How do I get API access?
API credentials are issued by SingleFile. Contact your SingleFile representative or info@singlefile.ai to get a client ID and secret, then follow the quick start guide.
